Warranty Policy

Lazy Tools Warranty Policy

We stand by the quality of our machines. If a fault arises due to a manufacturing defect within the warranty period, we will repair or replace the faulty part or unit at our discretion.

Making a Warranty Claim

To begin a claim, please provide:

  • The model number of your machine
  • The serial number
  • A valid proof of purchase

Our support team will guide you through basic diagnostics to identify the issue. If the fault cannot be resolved remotely, we may request that you return the machine for inspection.

Machine Returns for Warranty Inspection

All returns must be clearly marked for the Service Department.

If the issue is confirmed to be covered under warranty:

  • We will arrange the collection, repair, and return at no cost to you (excluding extended delivery zones such as Highlands or Islands, where a contribution to delivery costs may be required).

If the fault is not covered under warranty (e.g. due to lack of maintenance or misuse):

  • You will be responsible for collection, transport, handling, and any workshop labour charges.

IMPORTANT: Fuel & Oil Must Be Drained Before Return

For safety reasons, you must drain all fuel and oil from your machine before returning it.

  • Machines returned with fuel or oil will not be accepted, and collection may be refused by the courier.
  • This is essential to protect our staff, couriers, and premises from the risk of fire or injury.
  • We strongly advise keeping the original packaging to help secure the machine during transit.

We will only accept responsibility for the machine once it has been received and inspected by our service department.

Resolution Options

If your claim is approved, we will either:

  • Repair the machine or affected part
  • Provide a like-for-like replacement

Any costs not covered under warranty will be discussed with you before any repairs are carried out.

Remote Warranty Claims

  • We may be able to send replacement parts without requiring a full return.
  • If applicable, we will accept clear photographic evidence that demonstrates a manufacturing fault.
  • If photographic evidence is insufficient, the faulty part must be returned for inspection.

Warranty Limitations

The following are not covered under warranty:

  • General wear and tear or misuse
  • Lack of servicing or maintenance
  • Damage from water, frost, overheating, or poor ventilation
  • Fuel-related issues (e.g. stale fuel, incorrect fuel/oil mix)
  • Use in marine environments or extreme conditions
  • Unauthorised repairs or modifications
  • Use outside of intended operating conditions
  • Transit damage (must be reported within 24 hours)

Warranty Coverage by Item

Item Type Warranty Period
Service items (filters, spark plugs, etc.) 12 months (subject to fair wear & tear)
Wearing parts (belts, blades, tyres) 90 days
Lithium-ion batteries & chargers 12 months
Power tools (breakages only) 12 months (not for wear & tear)

Servicing Records

If regular servicing is required for your machine, you must keep a record of maintenance (including usage hours and service dates). These records may be requested as part of any claim. Lack of servicing records may void your warranty.
